Instructor: Susan Thom

Learn how to use the practice of journaling for idea development, goal setting and attainment, stress reduction, fighting creative blocks, improving your writing skills and mood alteration. If you have wanted to keep a journal but couldn’t get started or continue the practice, let me help you over the hurdle. If you already keep a journal let’s share ideas for enriching your writing experience.

Susan Thom has written each morning in a journal for over 50 years.  She started teaching seminars after being told by friends that the practice changed their lives. After understanding how many top  executives, writers and professionals in the arts keep journals, she brings this seminar to you. Susan is a fifth generation Californian who has lived her entire life in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.  Her passions include journaling, letter writing,  collecting fountain pens and traveling. She teaches seminars in journaling at fountain pen shows across the US and in local communities.  She is retired from  Keysight Technologies where she was a Global Account Manager.

This seminar will focus on letter writing as a hobby and a way to deepen your relationships, improve your communication skills and expand your world. We will cover how to shape your letter, topics and writing prompts specific to letter writing to build your confidence in writing interesting cherished letters . We will learn from Hemingway why most serious writers throughout history also corresponded by mail.
